Will white ink work on a dark
garment?
Our inks have been designed for opacity. Properly applied, your white
ink will be white on a dark garment.
How do I know where to place the print?
Easy PrintsŪ are printed on a ruled paper to make line up easy. On a full
size print, the horizontal line will cross at the armpits and the vertical
line will center with the tag on the garment. On heart size prints, the
bottom of the print lines up with the armpit horizontal and the vertical
center lines up with the shoulder/neck intersection.
Can I apply over a seam?
Seams can cause application problems due to uneven pressure. Some
6-panel hats have inwardly sewn seams for easier application. We suggest
testing application over a seam prior to placing your order.
How do I apply a print to a golf shirt or other type of shirt with
buttons in the way? The print area needs to be flat and even on all
applications. If applying near buttons, you will need to raise the print
area above the plane of the button. To do this, Stahls' sells Print Perfect
pads, or a computer mouse pad works nicely. Just slide under the print
area only, raising the print surface.
Why does my shirt look discolored after pressing?
Shirts contain moisture, and when pressed the moisture is removed from
the area the machine touched. This will cause a temporary color change
in some garments that will come back once the moisture is absorbed throughout
the shirt again.
Can I print across a button down shirt?
To apply across a button down shirt, cut the transfer in half on the vertical
center. Your pressure should be very heavy. Lay the shirt buttoned on
the platen. Position the left half of transfer on the left half, unbutton
and remove right half from platen. Press. Bring right half of shirt back
up to the print area. Button and line up; positioning right half against
left half. Unbutton and remove left half from the platen. Press. |
