Looking to expand your business? Here are the questions you'll want to consider when selecting the best heat press for your business. |
What style heat press is best?It all depends on your business. Some presses are best suited to printing teamwear and jackets, while other presses are manufactured for T-shirts, caps, mugs or plaques. Before you choose a heat press, evaluate the items you plan to print, your counter space and your workload. |
Does the platen provide even heat?Even heat is essential when applying transfers and lettering correctly. If your machine has cold spots, you'll ruin transfers and garments. Hotronix heating elements are three times larger than conventional presses and spaced evenly throughout the platen. |
Does platen size matter?A larger platen gives you more flexibility when printing full front transfers, oversize jerseys, and jackets. Choose the largest size heat press you can afford, as there are optional interchangeable platens available for smaller items. |
Is there a pressure readout? This feature gives you total control and allows more than one person to use the heat press without having to guess if it's set at the right pressure. |
Does the machine provide centralized pressure?Pressure is critically important when printing transfers. An accurate pressure reading is crucial to successful prints. |
Does the timer have an automatic reset?A digital or electronic timer with an automatic reset can make printing large orders more convenient, since there's no need to constantly reset the timer. |

Did you know?Accurate time, temperature, and pressure are the recipe for success when heat printing any screen printed transfers, digital transfers, or lettering. Clam style heat presses are the most compact and portable. If you will be printing shirts as a hobby, the MAXX line is a budget friendly, quality choice. |
What are some of the indications that I may need a new heat press?
One of the main indicators would be certain areas of the applied design are peeling or not adhering fully to the substrate. When this happens it is usually from having cold spots within your heating element. A Heat Press Test Kit will identify the temperature of the four corners and center of the heat press.
You may also want to verify that you are getting even pressure throughout the platen. You can do this by placing four pieces of paper at each corner and then clamping down the upper platen. You should not be able to pull out the paper easily with the platen clamped down.
Can I use a household iron to apply Transfer Express products?
We do not recommend applying any of Transfer Express' products with a household hand iron. We suggest using a heat press with adjustable pressure settings.
What are the dimensions of the Fusion heat press?
The Fusion heat press dimensions (in inches) are 37” L x 25”W x 24”H.
Why is my heat press temperature fluctuating or jumping on the screen?
It could be a loose probe connection on the board. A replacement can be ordered from Hotronix®.
Why can't I get the right pressure on my heat press when I use a heat printing pillow?
Remember, heat printing pillows naturally increase your machine's pressure. Make sure to adjust the pressure for the product being applied when using these items.
What are the available voltages of Hotronix® heat presses?
Hotronix Heat Presses are available in both 110V or 220V.
